Bruce Christian is the president and founder of US Waterproofing Systems,Inc a company He founded in 1998. As a former athlete himself. Bruce embarked on a successful entrepreneurial journey that soon evolved into a passionate commitment to philanthropy. His connection to UNCW began with a project at  the chancellor’s house, which marked the start of a long and impactful relationship with the university. During a visit to the campus two decades ago Bruce noticed the need for improvements to the baseball dugouts. Seizing the opportunity to make a difference, he led efforts to renovate them, sparking his ongoing involvement in enhancing the university’s athletic facilities.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to UNCW Athletics, Bruce was honored with the William J. Brooks Distinguished Service Award by the UNC Wilmington Department of Athletics in 2022. This prestigious accolade highlights his dedication to the university’s athletic programs and his efforts to elevate them to national prominence.

Over the years, Bruce has played a role in upgrading various sports infrastructures at UNCW, working behind the scenes to help elevate the university’s athletic Program to national prominence. Beyond his professional accomplishments,Bruce believes in a team effort to move forward any challenge or opportunities that present themselves. Bruce’s dedication to God, family, friends, country, community, athletics, and the success of others continues to shape his legacy, both in business and philanthropy.

M’Lynn Dease is from Hillsborough, North Carolina and graduated from UNCW in 2020, receiving her Bachelors in Communication Studies and Minor in Business Administration. While at UNCW, she was a Student Manager and Administrative Assistant for the UNCW Baseball team working with former Head Coach Mark Scalf and current Head Coach, Randy Hood, and was part of the 2018 and 2019 CAA Championship teams. Following her time in Wilmington, she attended graduate school at Coastal Carolina University where she received her Masters of Science in Sport Management. Currently, M’Lynn works as an Area Scout for the Chicago Cubs in SC/East TN.

Katie Smith Douglas graduated from UNC-Wilmington with a B.S. in Accounting in 2004 and has 20 years of experience in the field.  During her college years she worked in the baseball office at UNCW as an administrative assistant.  Upon graduation Katie worked in the finance office with the Atlanta Braves and the Charlotte Knights.  She then went on to work in public accounting in both tax and audit and was an assistant controller at a large corporation in Nashville, TN.  Katie, her husband, Levi and ten-year old son Declan moved back to their hometown of Asheville, NC in 2019 and they started their own accounting business servicing both nonprofit and for-profit clients.

UNCW Baseball won the CAA Conference Championship in 04, 06, 12, 15, 18, 19, 23, 2024.

11 CAA Regular Season Championships

UNCW Baseball was CAA Regular Season Champions in 87, 89, 03, 05, 07, 08, 12, 13, 16, 21, 2023.

12 NCAA Regional Appearances

UNCW Baseball advanced to the NCAA Regionals Tournament in 03, 04, 06, 08, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18, 19, 23, and 2024.
